About Us - Process

Initial Meeting

Red Level representatives will meet with you at your home to discuss your needs and ideas. Subsequent meetings may be required, but we will work quickly to move to the next step so that you will gain an early understanding of the available options and costs of your remodeling project.

Rough Estimate

The scope and price presented in the Rough Estimate are based on the design information and project specs collected to this point. There is no cause for concern if you aren't ready to specify all of your design choices. Red Level will base the Rough Estimate on standard high-quality material selections and allowances, and the resulting price will be a reliable representation of the Final Contract price for your remodeling project, unless significant changes to the scope are requested.

Design Contract

Once Red Level and the homeowner have agreed upon a scope of work and target price, a Design Contract is presented. The Design Contract represents a commitment by both parties to procede to the design and material selection phase of the process, with the intent to arrive at a final scope of work and construction contrtact. At this point, a deposit is made to cover five percent of the total estimated costs of the project.

Construction Design Drawings

Even if you've been thinking about your project for several months, it is often difficult to visualize the major changes you're considering for your home. The Construction Design Drawings will allow you to see exactly what your ideas look like on paper. We will work with you to modify the design to best fit your needs, and once the necessary adjustments have been made, the final scope of your project can be determined. At that point, we will be able to obtain bids from core subcontractors so that the contract price will be an accurate representaion of what the final costs of the project will be.

Material, Fixture and Finish Selection

There are several ways to approach the selection the materials, fixtures and finishes for your project. You can provide your own choices, have Red Level bring in our design partners to help, or choose your own design professionals for this challenging but fun phase of the process.

Construction Contract

The Construction Contract contains the final scope of work, final design drawings, the payment schedule and the project timeline, as well as the responsibilities of both parties. After this contract is signed, final constructions drawings will be completed, and construction will commence following the receipt of all necessary permits and variances.

Construction

Depending on the nature of your project, construction can last anywhere from a few months to over a year. You will receive detailed weekly updates on the status of your project, and the work will procede as efficiently as it possibly can.
